Why Join

The Inland Empire Chapter?

Inland Empire ASHRAE is a diverse group of engineers, vendors, contractors, facilities professionals and educators who want to connect with other professionals in our local industry. You will find that our group is warm and helpful and enjoys making a difference in our careers and community. For many it is a way to get to know and be involved with people that share the same values and principles of doing business. As ASHRAE members we agree to follow a code of ethics as we pledge to act with honesty, fairness, competency, integrity and respect for others. The people of Inland Empire ASHRAE live this code every day.

Many long term friendships began with becoming active in a small way with our local chapter and building from there! Spokane is a community that helps each other and ASHRAE is a vehicle to do just that.

Another important reason for joining our chapter is professional growth. Many members decide at one point to become involved by “going through the chairs” which helps our members learn important leadership skills while also making a difference in our chapter. Over the years these leadership skills are revealed as each volunteer manages finance, schedules meetings, invites interesting speakers, recruits new members, gives presentations, organizes scholarship golf tournaments, skeet shoots and other fun activities while making a difference in the lives of others. It is sometimes very surprising and fulfilling to see others “rise to the occasion” as they catch the vision of this great organization.

Student Membership
Our chapter has a strong interest in building student chapters because they indeed are the future of ASHRAE. For this reason, ASHRAE student membership is at a reduced cost and the chapter supports many student activities. ASHRAE also has a “Smart Start” program for students transferring into our local chapter. The first year out of college, national membership is only $20 plus local dues.
