April Chapter Meeting – ASHRAE Standard 241 – Control of Infectious Aerosols
April 16 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
What is it?
Completing this course will increase a participant’s knowledge and understanding of how to apply electric air cleaners in adherence to ASHRAE Standard 241: Control of Infectious Aerosols. Standard 241 was published in response to the global pandemic and introduces a set of design considerations and product qualification requirements for owners, architects, engineers, and contractors when designing for infectious aerosol mitigation. The implementation of this standard brings numerous benefits to occupants and promotes healthier environments.
The course will teach components of the standard that apply to electric air cleaners, what these mean for the application of air cleaners to a project, and how to compare air cleaners for performance and safety. The use of air cleaners with filtration or standalone is compared for common applications. Participants will learn how to interpret ASHRAE 241 compliant testing results to help select electric air cleaning products. Finally, there is a discussion on the evolution of ASHRAE 241 and what to expect.
This PDH will count toward continuing education credits for engineers.
